Shelbi + Troy

When I look at you, I think to myself, Lord, thank you for such an angel.- Troy (Groom)

When I look at you,
I think to myself,
Lord, thank you for such an angel.

- Troy (Groom)

When my husband and I first moved to Pinedale, Wyoming, we had the privilege of meeting Shelbi’s parents. When Shelbi reached out about a planner for her wedding, I was so excited. Shelbi was our first official client after opening the doors to Sacred Rim Event Planning. If we could do hundreds of Shelbi and Troy weddings, we would be so very lucky. Shelbi was one of those brides who knew what she wanted and had a vision. Coming along side her to help bring her vision to life was a true honor.

Can anyone say #squadgoals!? Before you walk down the aisle, don’t forget to celebrate with ladies who are standing by your side.

We love these sweet moments of Shelbi and her mom as she puts on her beautiful wedding dress.

Bridesmaids First Look.jpg

Even your bridesmaids will want a first look.

We can’t forget those details.

It’s not unusual for a groom to not want a “first look.” So why not a first look with your dad. He’ll love that special moment with his girl.

The men.

The ladies.

What a perfect summer day for a beautiful ceremony in the backyard of the bride’s parent’s home. The bride followed in her parent’s footsteps as she chose to get married in the very spot her parent’s said “I do.” The ceremony started with the first bridesmaid and groomsman handing out beer to the guests (they wanted to get the party started). This beautiful afternoon was full of laughter, happy tears, and most of all, a ceremony focused on two becoming one in the eye’s of the Lord.

Check out this amazing film by David Rule. Get those tissues ready… I don’t know about you, but I definitely teared up while watching this beautiful wedding video.

Getting ready to enter the party!

Shelbi and Troy’s reception was a blast! They took the party over to her grandparent’s barn where they enjoyed a pasta buffet under the tent and danced the night away in the barn. We always recommend our couples who are up for a game to make sure their DJ does the shoe game, it’s sure to bring many laughs. A sweet moment during the evening was when the bride’s dad sang to her and her mom. He sang to his wife for their wedding and wanted to bring back the tradition by singing to both his girls.

A note from our bride…

Monica was truly amazing during our engagement and our wedding day. I was in nursing school during our engagement and didn't have a lot of time to help plan or anything and Monica really helped everything run smoothly and made sure we were all organized. She thought of little details that I definitely would have missed and I loved how much enthusiasm she had for making our special day amazing. I usually really like planning and making a vision come to life, but deciding to have Monica as our wedding planner was one of the best decisions we could have made. Her pricing is will not break the bank and she puts lots of love into her work. If you cannot afford to have a full package planner on your wedding day, MAKE SURE to get a coordinator. When Monica was coordinating everything the week of the wedding and the day of, there was not one thing that went wrong. NOT ONE. As the bride, I was expecting something to be forgotten, broken, or SOMETHING wrong happen and it didn't all day long. If there was anything that may have happened, she did a great job of not stressing the bride out, because I truly didn't know. She handles things adequately and kept my stress level low. Planning a wedding during the COVID-19 pandemic was not ideal, but Monica did a wonderful job of making sure vendors were complying to guidelines while still making everything beautiful and not hindered by the pandemic. We loved having her team there and cannot recommend her enough!

There is something so sweet about planning a destination proposal. It was an honor to come along side this couple and their amazing family and friends to help bring to life a winter proposal against a beautiful snowy backdrop. They started the day off with “family photos” at the peaceful Teton Pines. With her eyes covered, they crossed the bridge…

Once they arrived at the “Marry Me” marquee letters, they turned around for another photo. At this point she still didn’t know what was about to happen. Then he turned her around and her reaction was priceless.

She said YES! Let the family celebration begin!

Check out the beautiful day captured by the very talented Melanie Healey Films!

We have to take some time to feature these spectacular marquee letters. These letters were an important piece to this destination proposal. We secured a rental from a company early on in the planning process that planned on shipping us the letters. Exactly one week before the proposal, we received a phone call saying they could no longer ship us the letters… We spent hours finding an alternative to make sure we could stage this proposal just as the client desired. We found Alpha-Lit (Salt Lake City) and let me tell you, Julie saved the day! We drove over 1,000 miles to make sure we had these marquee lights ready for this priceless moment. Thank you so much to the amazing team of vendors for making this day perfect!

One our favorite parts about planning and coordinating weddings, proposals, and other special events is meeting and working with some amazing and talented people. This destination proposal was no different. We got to work with some incredible individuals that we can’t wait to work with again!

A huge thank you to…

Carly Butler for capturing these stunning images. Carly is not only talented in capturing special moments, but she is a joy to work with. We could not have done this without her. She came along side and helped carry the generator and the marquee lights in the freezing cold temperatures. She was amazing and we look forward to the honor of working with her again.

Isn’t the film above amazing!? Melanie Healey Films did an incredible job filming the day. Her and Carly worked wonderfully as a team to make sure they captured the most important moments. Thank you to Melanie for helping make sure the marquee lights were positioned beautifully and helping arrange the hundreds of rose pedals. We can’t wait to work with Melanie again in the future.

THANK YOU so much to Julie at Alpha-Lit (Salt Lake City) for literally saving the day! Julie is so sweet and easy to work with. Looking to rent marquee lights, we recommend Alpha-Lit (Salt Lake City). We have confidence Julie will make sure you have a wonderful experience.

The Teton Pines allowed us to use their picturesque location and we can’t thank them enough. They welcomed us with smiles and a desire to help us find the perfect spot to capture the day. With their support, we were able to capture this sweet proposal with a beautiful wintery backdrop.

Congratulations to this beautiful couple! We wish them all the best in their future!

The vision began when a local Pinedale bike shop owner mentioned an ice bar was being built nearby. I couldn’t stop thinking about how amazing it would be to have a winter proposal at the only self sustaining ice bar in the lower 48! For those adventurous couples out there, this one is for you!

Now how about those fat bikes! We couldn’t help ourselves, fat bikes seemed like the perfect adventure among the snowy Wyoming backdrop. Plus, who doesn’t like a good adventure before getting down on one knee!?

Aren’t they adorable!? A very big congratulations to Kodee and Neale! She said YES! (P.S. Neale actually proposed a few days before the photoshoot, it was perfect timing!)

ice bar proposal.jpg

Check out those amazing ice bar doors! They are covered with bison fur and the handles are bison horns. Are you ready to check out the inside!?

The ice bar at the Jackson Fork Ranch is one of our favorite spots - the coolest places in town! We had the honor of meeting the one and only Mary Gibbons (helped build the Icehotel in Artic Circle of Sweden), the creator of this very ice bar. Her creativity truly brought the only self sustaining ice bar in the lower 48 to life. The bar, the glasses, the tables, and chairs are all made of ice! Beautiful carvings embrace the ice bar walls, you can even see the light beaming through the buffalo on the last picture above. It’s truly incredible, a once in a lifetime experience. Now, are you ready to warm up?

No better way to end the perfect day all cozied up with your love dreaming about forever - simply magical!

There is nothing like a romantic winter proposal featuring an adventure on fat bikes, celebrating your love over drinks in a one of a kind ice bar, and dreaming of forever all cozy in a warming tipi. We hope this has inspired those of you who are dreaming of a beautiful proposal a midst the stunning winter Wyoming backdrop.

A huge thank you too…

The Ice Bar at Jackson Fork Ranch - We are serious when we say this is one of our favorite spots. Along with delicious drinks served in ice glasses, you can enjoy delicious small plates while enjoying the ice bar. In addition to fat biking, you can cross country ski, ice skate, or even try curling! To top it off, everyone you interact with at the ice bar is amazing. It’s hands down a one of a kind experience that we tell everyone about. We can’t thank them enough for allowing us to capture a winter proposal on their beautiful piece of Wyoming.

Geared Up - We can’t thank Andrew, the owner at Geared Up, for introducing us to the ice bar and providing the awesome fat bikes for the photoshoot. Andrew also spends countless hours grooming the trail out there so those who would like to fat bike or cross county ski can do so. Check out Geared Up and give fat biking a try - he offers rentals and a trail pass to adventure out at the ice bar.

We have said it before and we will say it over and over again, Sydney with White Buffalo Photography and truly amazing! She is so sweet and has a natural talent for capturing love stories. We are so excited to be able to show off her work once again and can’t wait to show off more in the future.

Congratulations to Kodee and Neale! We wish you both a lifetime full of love and joy!
